Nate Trotter is a rancher from Diamondback who owns the Double Speed ranchh.
Background
He arrived in the town in the 1850s, while heading back from the California Gold Rush — he had heard about John Brown, the killings in Kansas and the likelihood of war, and chose to wait there for things to cool off back East. By the time the conflict ended, Nate Trotter had been in Diamondback for more than a decade and was settled. He fell in love with a Yunni woman called Mesa who he loved very much. Mesa died from fever which has left Nate depressed.
