Tour Mode
Titanic - Adventure Out of Time has a 'Tour' mode which can be selected at the beginning of the game. As the name suggests, the player can use this mode to explore certain parts of the ship freely without being connected to a mission. However, saving is not possible in 'Tour' mode.
Some areas that are accessible in 'Game' mode including the lifts, Purser's Office, and cabins of other passengers are inaccessible in 'Tour' mode. However, players can freely access the Bridge, Cargo Hold, and Engine and Boiler Rooms, areas that are restricted in 'Game' mode. In addition, players can use the map to jump to the red areas from any room at any time unlike in 'Game' where jumping to such areas is disabled whilst in the Boiler Rooms and Cargo Hold.
Tour guides
'Tour' mode provides 10 tour guides, all of whom are characters in 'Game' mode, although not all of them will use their names in 'Tour' mode. Players can click on the ship on their panel to jump directly to an area with a tour guide who when clicked will relay pertinent information regarding the Titanic.
- Smethells (Stateroom C-73) - He will hand the player a letter from J. Bruce Ismay, the managing director of the White Star Line and provide information about when and where the ship was built.
- Eric Burns (First Class Lounge) - He will show photos he took about some important people onboard in First Class.
- Leyland Trask (Turkish Bath) - He will provide trivia on a book Futility written by Morgan Robertson 14 years before the Titanic sank. The book features a ship that suffered a similar fate to the Titanic.
- Daisy Cashmore (Grand Staircase)* - She will provide insight about some of the famous passengers.
- Shailagh Hacker (Scotland Road)* - She will provide insight about passengers who traveled in Third Class.
- Penny Pringle (Aft Well Deck)* - She will provide insight on the aftermath of the sinking.
- Willi von Haderlitz (Gymnasium)* - He will provide insight about the gymnasium and mention the Café Parisien.
- Stoker (Boiler Room)* - He will provide insight into the boiler rooms.
- Third Officer Morrow (Bridge and Wireless Room)* - He will provide insight about some controls on the ship's bridge and its current position. He will also provide insight into the wireless communication system installed on the ship.
Guides marked with an asterisk (*) were not available when the game was initially released. Players needed to download them from Cyberflix's homepage at a later time. However, an extra CD containing all of them was released in later editions. The GOG version of Titanic - Adventure Out of Time came with all guides included.
