"'Bout time you're awake! You're two weeks late with your rent! War or no war, a tenant in arrears is not a tenant I'll put up with. You don't pay by today, it's the street! I promise!"

In 1942, Frank Carlson was a tenant of this landlady, the owner of 9 Stanley Crescent. She was upset with Carlson for being late with his rent and, on 14 April 1942, repeatedly knocked on his door demanding the money he owed her.

In either the Nazi or Communist victories, she is heard being shot before the soldiers burst into Carlson's apartment.
